Technology
URIMAT’s distinction, in plain language. The membrane is the one we supply.
| Flush urinal | Oil or chemical cartridge | URIMAT membrane | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water | About 0.5–4 litres each use | None for the flush | None for the flush |
| Seal | Water in the trap | A layer of oil or chemical | A vertical membrane that closes when flow stops |
| What fails | Valves, sensors, scale where water meets urine | The oil seal, if wash-water is poured through | A spent trap, which the red indicator is there to show |
| Routine | Flush-gear repairs and descaling | Cartridge changes through the year | Replace the trap when the cube indicator says so |
Path of the urine
Urine runs down a smooth surface. There is no flush rim and no button.
A vertical seal opens for the liquid, then closes against gas from the sewer.
The MB-ActiveCube in the trap limits deposits in the trap and the pipe.
Undiluted urine leaves by the existing waste. No cold-water feed is required.
Care
Staff clean the bowl with the biological cleaner. Inside the trap, the MB-ActiveCube dissolves over its service life. When it is spent, a red surface shows under the transparent cover. That is the cue to exchange the odour trap, not to mask a smell with another product.
URIMAT describes the membrane as able to hold against pressure from both sides, so sewer gas does not leak past a tired oil film. The practical requirement on site is simpler: the trap is present, seated, and replaced when the indicator says so.
Installation stays with the project contractor. We supply the bowl, the trap and the notes for the waste connection. A cold-water pipe to that wall is not part of the work.
Plastic, ceramic or steel follows from how public the room is and what the interior is trying to be.
